Kudos to Scout Boats for their new Dealer Linked Inventory program! It lets dealers list their current boat inventory so other dealers can quickly locate a boat they need but don’t have in inventory. More manufacturers need to step up and develop similar programs simply because dealers are just not going to be able to stock as many boats as they did before the bottom fell out of the economy. Happy Thanksgiving
Tomorrow is the big day. The traditional Thanksgiving where most of us eat much, much more than we should. But it is always enjoyable to have such a wonderful meal and, more important, very special time with family and friends. And it is a good time for each of us to reflect on what we are thankful for. Even though it is a very tough economy, especially for marine dealers and manufacturers, there is still much we can all be thankful for. Things like our families, good friends, the freedoms that we enjoy living in the USA, and much more.
I am certainly thankful for all of these things and more. I am especially thankful for all the dealer friends I have made over the past 50 years of my involvement in the marine industry. And I am also very thankful for the several hundred dealers who have already subscribed to this blog to read the articles by me, John Underwood and Skip Hegel.
