Tomorrow is the big day. The traditional Thanksgiving where most of us eat much, much more than we should. But it is always enjoyable to have such a wonderful meal and, more important, very special time with family and friends. And it is a good time for each of us to reflect on what we are thankful for. Even though it is a very tough economy, especially for marine dealers and manufacturers, there is still much we can all be thankful for. Things like our families, good friends, the freedoms that we enjoy living in the USA, and much more.
I am certainly thankful for all of these things and more. I am especially thankful for all the dealer friends I have made over the past 50 years of my involvement in the marine industry. And I am also very thankful for the several hundred dealers who have already subscribed to this blog to read the articles by me, John Underwood and Skip Hegel. And new subscriptions are coming in every week. We very much appreciate all the dealers who are reading and commenting on our articles each week.
It was especially gratifying to recently get the following e-mail comment from a West Coast dealer:
“I cannot express how glad I am to subscribe to the blog as I have missed the most informative articles in Boat and Motor Dealer magazine. You can rest assured I will spread the word about the blog and look forward to visiting the site frequently. Please keep up the great work.”
It is feedback like this that keeps us three industry veterans wanting to continue cranking out our thoughts on the industry and dealer issues. Thanks to all of you who have subscribed to the blog. Tell your dealer and industry friends about it and suggest they go to bensherwood.net and subscribe.
That’s all for this week folks. Have a great Thanksgiving and weekend. More to come next week.
Now I have to go help my wife chop stuffing ingredients for a 20-pound turkey.
